Juniper POV The ride back to the penthouse was quiet. The city lights slid across Tristan’s face as he drove, one hand on the wheel, the other resting on the gear shift like he was forcing himself not to reach for me. I kept my eyes on the window, the dress suddenly feeling too tight, too exposed. My lower back still burned where his hand had stayed most of the night. Every time his thumb had moved across my skin, it had sent little shocks through me that had nothing to do with pretending. I didn’t know how to talk about it. So I didn’t.
