Nicole Harper ~•~ Mike lived in a small one-bedroom apartment. The place was cozy and beautifully decorated. It didn’t look like he just started living there. As if he saw the confusion on my face, he said. “I moved in at eighteen. I schooled in Chicago so it was easy to commute from here to school.” He explained. “The place is pretty nice and I don’t see myself moving out for a while.” I nodded and continued to look around. Most of my agemates already had their lives together. Most of them had a car and an apartment. I had none. It was pretty embarrassing. Mike set the takeout down on the table and took off his jacket before finding something for us to watch. We watched the movie in comfortable silence, the only other sound apart from the movie being the sound of cutlery as we ate.
