Milo quickly pressed the robot's power button and shut it down.
As soon as he did, the apartment's alarm system went off, loud and sharp. It was directly connected to Austin's phone.
Hearing the noise from downstairs, Austin dropped the grocery bags without a second thought and rushed upstairs.
She pushed open the door, shut it behind her, and dropped to her knees beside Pixie.
The robot was completely powered off, standing still with no response.
Milo, trying to stay calm, stepped forward. "Mom, I accidentally triggered Pixie's alarm system," he said quickly.
Austin gave a short hum, then leaned down to restart the robot.
Milo shifted slightly, placing himself between Pixie and Eliot, just in case.
