Eliot sat quietly in the corner of the hospital room, listening closely to everything the adults were saying. His fingers moved quickly across his phone screen.
Eliot : [ Aunt Lena had a car accident. Dad's coming over. ]
The reply from Leo came almost instantly.
Leo :[ Bet she planned it herself. ]
Eliot stared at the message, his face blank. He didn't answer.
A few minutes later, Leo sent an audio file with a short message : "Send this to Uncle Kaius and see how he reacts."
Eliot put on his earbuds and played the recording.
As he listened, his expression changed.
