“Not now, Devon. I’ll tell you later. Just… stay with your sister while your Uncle Killian and I are bringing your dad straight to the infirmary.”
Diana and I observed the healers transporting Dad on a stretcher. Blood was everywhere, and I felt like all the hairs on my nape stood as I saw that gaping wound on my father’s shoulder blade.
“What happened to him!?” I screamed in the hallway, but nobody answered my question while Diana was crying beside me. Mom was in total panic and distress, and Uncle Kian couldn’t leave her side. Everyone was so focused on Dad that no one bothered explaining to us what happened to him. I didn’t know what to tell Diana!
