“How long are we going to wait here?”
Devon didn’t answer my question. Instead, he paced around the room as if he were thinking. Or maybe he wasn’t? His arms were folded on his chest while frowning. Was he upset? Scared? We were finally out of that horrible, dark room that the Shadow lady and her men brought us to. We were terrified.
I couldn’t tell how many days we spent there with my twin brother, but throughout our stay there, he never let go of me. He was always in front of me, ready to protect me from the bad guys. I wouldn’t be able to survive all of this if Devon weren’t with me.
