“How large was Erin’s pack?” Alexander suddenly asked.
“Three, maybe four, hundred at most,” Derek shrugged.
“Could a force half that really wipe out her pack?”
“It’s a stretch,” Derek agreed, “especially as we train all the pack members, not just warriors.”
“I don’t think this is the entire force,” Nathan said. “It’s only what was left. And they probably used infected wolves too.”
“Infected?” Alexander raised a brow.
“Yes. We know Kweo wolves are immune, but I don’t think our enemy does.”
“How could they not?” Alexander demanded.
“Call it a blind snot,” Nathan said. “They designed a virus to kill werewolves. It’s something they are still perfecting. If a Kweo is bitten and doesn’t get infected, they would just assume they haven’t reached a hundred percent effectiveness yet.”
