“Ah, there he is,” Peregrin announced as Alexander stepped into the office.
Nathan and Derek looked up from the paperwork they were discussing. The pair had definitely developed an easy working relationship. Nathan was finally taking it easy and allowing Derek to shoulder some of his burden.
“I’m so glad you are here. The lovebirds are a little much for me,” Peregrin said.
“Can you take anything seriously?” Derek frowned.
“No,” Peregrin answered with a grin, “what made you think I would?”
“Is he always this irritating?” Derek asked with a sigh. He had been there for months so he should have been used to it, but he wasn’t.
“Only when he’s idle,” Nathan said. “When he’s on a job, he puts on his serious cap.”
“He has a serious side?” Derek scoffed.
