I choke on a breath, widening my eyes. "Oh nooooooo..."
"Oh yes," Locke says cheerfully. "The impact ruptured the pressurized tanks. A giant pink mushroom cloud of confetti exploded everywhere. It spooked a herd of miniature alpacas being kept in an enclosure next door for a kid’s fair. The alpacas panicked, kicked down their fence, and stampeded straight into the industrial yard."
"Alpacas?" I shriek with laughter. "Are you kidding me?"
"I wish I was," Locke says. "Twenty tiny, terrified alpacas covered head-to-toe in neon-pink glitter went charging down the main road. Mayhem, panicking, tried to herd them back using the flatbed, but he ended up driving down the road like the grand marshal of a rogue, glittery alpaca parade, with local traffic completely paralyzed.”
