I led Zoey and Eve into the house.
A part of me felt bad for lying to the girl. But Eve had told me about everything and I wanted to clear Zoey’s doubts.
Even if it meant paying someone to act like my sick mother. I just couldn’t wait for the months to go by fast so everything would be over.
When we got into the house, I studied Zoey’s reaction closely. I could tell that she was tense and nervous about meeting my mom.
“Just chill, you don’t have to be anxious,” I whispered in her ear as I held her hands tightly.
She let out a deep breath. “Sure.”
We waited in the living room for a while before she came out of her room. My lips curled into a smirk when I saw that the actress had done a good job following the script I gave to her.
