“How’s everything going on there? Was the girl actually there?” Eve’s concerned voice came through the other end of the line.
I let out a sharp breath. “Yes, Wendy is really here.”
“Wow,” Eve muttered.
“So what’s going on?”
Eve listened quietly as I told her about everything. When I was done, she let out a humorless chuckle.
“They really wanted you to forgive her? That’s insane,” Eve replied.
I nodded in agreement. “Yes. That’s really insane. And you know the worst part?” I asked.
