If I wasn’t mistaken, it took Eve a minute before she finally responded. “I’m not planning on telling her anything.”
“So are we good?” I asked, hoping we could change the topic.
Eve shook her head. “No, I still can’t believe you would sleep with her.” I didn’t miss the disappointment in her voice. “Why would you do something like that? Couldn’t you control yourself?”
I rubbed my temple. “What if you are just making a big deal about it? What if Zoey sees it as just a casual hookup? I mean, she knows it’s just a contract.”
Eve was silent for a while.
“It doesn’t matter. You know she’s in a vulnerable state and she’ll probably translate what you guys did into something more.”
