Cassandra understood Rachel well.
Rachel was Dale Quinn's ex-wife. The moment Eleanor's history with Dale went public, Rachel had gone straight after her.
Dale had ended up in prison, Rachel had filed for divorce, and the fallout had never fully cleared off her family's business, even now.
Which meant Rachel's hatred for Eleanor ran bone-deep.
Exactly as expected, Cassandra's provocation did its work Rachel picked up the glass beside her and strode straight toward Eleanor.
Eleanor had just finished dancing, parted ways with Peter, and was standing alone near the dessert table, deciding between options.
Cassandra drifted back, distant enough to watch unseen.
The glass in Rachel's hand the one Cassandra had swapped held acid.
If that landed across Eleanor's face, she'd be disfigured.
