Julian wasn't especially interested in trending topics, but he tapped this one open anyway.
When he finished reading, he closed it and called David.
"Asleep?"
"No, Mr. Cross. Is there something you need?"
Julian realized the question had been pointless. Even if David had been asleep, he'd have said he wasn't.
"That uncle of Eleanor's..."
On the other end of the line, David looked up, surprised.
He hadn't expected Julian to call this late, and not about company business, but about Eleanor.
"...Yes, Mr. Cross. I'll take care of it right away."
For the next two days, Eleanor paid no attention to Gordon's mess, and Gordon didn't come looking for her again.
While she hunted for inspiration for the Eldmark project, she waited for a call from Julian or Marcus.
