Catherine The apartment I found for Becky and her mother was small and humble. It was really meant to be a bachelor’s efficiency apartment for workers at the mill. There was only enough room for one full-sized bed, but the women accepted it graciously. Well, I ought to say, Becky accepted it; Wanda rarely said anything to me directly.
