The moment the twins' eyes opened, I froze in place. They each had one golden eye and one brown eye. This is entirely uncharted territory for us. The one thing I knew was that Dr. Gurin was going to have a field day over this. I know that he will be excited to follow the twins' growth, like he did for Maksim and me when we were children. I'd never heard of something like this happening in my life. It was almost impossible for a vampire to be born, let alone be this type of hybrid.
