Ten Years Later:
Laughter fills the air as the kids play together as we get set up for the birthday celebration. It made us smile to hear it as we set up the tables. We were celebrating the twins’ birthday, as well as Madeline’s birthday. The kids wanted a cookout, so that’s what we did. This was a pack event, as things had greatly improved ever since the two families that were the most vocal against us had been banished.
They had been the ones who were constantly causing strife between us. We hadn’t heard from their parents in over a decade. They knew the cost of returning. Things have only improved since they left.
