“I…I don’t know,” Bianca bubbles out. “I didn’t -”
Despite Bianca’s efforts, there’s no denying what she’s done. It makes sense now - the way she’d invited the whole damn town or how she’d been eager to see the performance. She’d expected it to crash and burn because she’d planned for it to.
I sigh. For f**k’s sake.
I stand then, quickly drawing everyone’s attention as I calm the commotion within the room.
“This is all just a misunderstanding,” I insist, trying to smooth it over. “It’s late. You should all head home. As Evelyn said - thank you all for coming and supporting our local youth. We appreciate you all.”
