Evelyn’s POV
It’s been days. I’ve been stuck in my own room under Kane’s orders. He’d also insisted that no one was permitted into my room to see me.
Not that anyone cared to visit. Really, the only person I would have actually expected to stop by was Kane. However, I haven’t seen him either.
I’m starting to get stir crazy. The only time my door opens and closes is when the guards stationed outside my door pass off my breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Keeping me locked up like this is borderline psychotic.
For now, I’m keeping myself busy by reading one of the books that has been in my room. However, I assume it was meant more for decoration than actual pleasure because it’s dense, boring. As I’m mid-yawn, I’m almost thankful to hear some sort of commotion outside my door.
