‘Something’s not right. Where was Evelyn?’
Although she was keen on sticking with the rest of the medical team, I proceeded to keep an eye on her throughout the evening. For the most part, I’d been doing a pretty decent job.
However, I dared to look away for just one moment too long, and now I couldn’t find her.
I glanced around in all different directions and scanned various faces around the room. But nothing. I couldn’t find her.
I felt someone nudge my arm; I turned my head to see Olivia holding two glasses. She pressed a champagne flute into my hand and smiled.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
