Kane’s POV
For the first time in a while, I truly felt like I had entered into a state of peace. Things with Evelyn and her developing Alpha persistently kept me on my toes, yes, but it wasn’t anything that I couldn’t handle.
The corner of my lip lifted upward from the simple thought of having witnessed her newly developed strength.
She’s going to be a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure.
Both Evelyn and I had slipped back into a normal routine. She—back in either the lab or in the medical ward. Her care for others knew no bounds. Whereas I was back in my home office, skimming through paperwork and all incoming messages.
I was still somewhat surprised by how much attention we were receiving from outside packs in other northern territories. I suppose if all had gone to hell
