Kane’s POV “Like hell!!” I couldn’t believe that Evelyn had traveled all the way out here. Had she lost her mind?? Yes, I was still furious with her. Having discovered those papers that her mother left to her, I didn’t know what to think. Why hadn’t she told me about them in the first place? Why keep them a secret? These were questions I should have given her the opportunity to answer, but I didn’t. I just couldn’t see past the cloud of devastation and rage that clouded my judgment. So I left. I left without a word, finally feeling the guilt of my action settle in the pit of my stomach just as I reached the battle grounds. Despite my anger toward her, I still deeply cared for her. So much so that I was grateful to know she wasn’t going to be anywhere near all of this c*****e.
