D A M O N I watched Kiara sleep, her breathing even as the storm in my mind was still raging. I traced the line of her jaw with my finger. She looked so peaceful, so vulnerable in her sleep. After our lovemaking, she had drifted off to sleep, her body finally succumbing to exhaustion. I memorized the curve of her cheek, the way a stray curl fell across her forehead.
