K I A R A I laid in bed that night, Damon's arms wrapped securely around me. I had never felt so safe in my entire life. But the safety was short lived. The moment I closed my eyes, the images of my father's face, my grandmother's unconscious body and my mother's blood flooded my mind. I gasped, my eyes flying open. My heart was pounding in my chest, my body covered in a cold sweat. Damon's arms tightened around me. "Nightmare?" he asked, his voice husky with sleep. I nodded, not trusting my voice to speak.
