"I'm glad I finally get to have you to myself," Damon said, reaching across the table to take my hand. "It feels like it's been one crisis after another since we met."
I squeezed his hand, a small smile on my lips. "Tell me about it," I said. "But we made it through. Together."
"That we did," he said, his gaze softening. "You know, I never thought I'd be happy again after Sera. I thought my life was over. But then you came along, and you turned my world upside down."
"In a good way, I hope," I said, my heart fluttering.
"In the best way," he said, bringing my hand to his lips and kissing my knuckles. "You brought the light back into my life, Kiara. You made me want to live again. I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'm so grateful the Moon Goddess gave me a second chance."
