N Y X T W E L V E H O U R S A G O I blinked multiple times to make sure that my eyes were not seeing things, that my eyes were not seeing my dead best friend standing at my doorstep. I almost dropped the jar of herbs in my hands. But I didn't. Instead, I just stood there, staring at her. I couldn't believe it. She was dead. I saw her body. I was there at her funeral. This couldn’t be possible. "Nyx?" she said, her voice sounding exactly the same as I remembered. "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost." I just stared at her, my mind spinning. How was this possible? Was this a trick? A spell? "Sera?" I finally managed to say, the name sounding foreign on my tongue. I never imagined I’d be able to say it to her face again.
