Chapter 17 Lyra’s POV Cat arrived exactly nineteen minutes after I shut Ivy up. I heard the doorbell from my room and then the low murmur of voices downstairs — Nathan’s flat, clipped tone and then Cat’s bright one cutting right through it. I pressed my ear to the door like the most pathetic version of myself and listened. I couldn’t make out the words, but I could hear the shape of them. Cat being polite but pointed. Nathan being short. And then, cutting underneath both of them, something that made my jaw tighten. Sienna’s laugh. She was still here. I pulled back from the door and sat on the edge of the bed, staring at my own hands.
