Chapter 19 I set my suitcase down and let the wheels touch the ground and I started walking. It was not a long walk to the house I shared with Marcus. Twenty minutes at a normal pace, maybe a little more with a suitcase. My feet knew the route without my brain having to engage, and I was grateful for that because my brain was not doing well. The first five minutes were fine. I walked and I breathed and I focused on the sound of the wheels on the pavement and the distant sound of a car somewhere and the way the streetlights made everything look orange and flat.
