I stared through the glass doors of the gym.
The man inside the black car was still watching me. He wasn’t pretending anymore.
Marcus stepped beside me. “That’s the same car.”
I looked at him. “You’re sure?”
“Yes. I saw it yesterday, and I saw it near the hospital.”
My stomach tightened.
Then my phone vibrated. I pulled it out.
Jake. Another message appeared.
‘Clara knows where you are.’
I showed Marcus. His expression changed immediately. “Bella, we need to leave.”
“Why?”
“Because this isn’t random.”
I looked at the car again. The man behind the wheel remained still.
“What if Clara sent him?”
Marcus didn’t answer. That was enough.
