She’d thought she’d known everything about them prior to coming here to Houston, only to now realise she’d known about her life prior to that divorce, not the six weeks that had come with the settlement of the divorce. So she’d been happy to extract payback upon him, make him suffer all the things he’d done to her six months ago.
Only now, she knew she’d not accounted for those last six weeks, the pain of once again having to deal with being alone and unwanted, and that was how those weeks had made her feel. She’d had moments during those six weeks of just laying in the marital bed, feeling heartbroken and all alone, had realised she was lonely in that big empty house, with him never coming home anymore.
