Luna’s POV The office was nearly silent by the time I logged out of my computer. Most of the workers had already left, their laughter and chatter long gone from the hallways. Only the faint hum of the fluorescent lights and the occasional shuffle of the night guards reminded me I wasn’t completely alone. I looked at my phone, and no text from my dad came through. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I stacked the last of the files neatly, rubbing my stiff neck. Working as a secretary wasn’t glamorous, but it kept me out of the house and away from the suffocating expectations waiting for me there. Tonight, though, I was exhausted.
