The noise was suffocating me.
The stomping of guards boots, the distant ringing of security alarms, and the heavy weight of unanswered questions.
I sat on the edge of the bed in Garrett’s guest room, staring down at my hands. My soul was bruised. In less than twenty-four hours, my whole world has been shattered.
I found out my real name is Jessie, that my parents are dead, that Jenny is my twin sister and l have a brother.
I couldn't breathe. The air in the house felt like smoke filling my lungs.
Because it's also connected to my past and the one that hurts the most because Garrett was supposed to be my everything and now I'm lost in a limbo way I don't know whether I'm coming or going and just a few days ago I had an idea of what I wanted for my life but now I don't.
