It had been five days since she’d woken up and during those five days she’d found Parker at her bedside, just casually sitting in the room even when Whit and Milly weren’t there. She’d told him to go and work or play with the children.
“You can’t get rid of me that easily,” he’d commented. He’d taken up residence and was merrily annoying her at times, thought it was funny to tease her about many little things, and had taken his cue from Whit on that one.
But he also kept the boredom away as well, played cards with her and word games. It was all she could manage to do. She still had no wolfen healing, and it was slow-going. She didn’t know how humans did this lay in a hospital for days on end. Most wolfen patients were in and out in a matter of one to two days.
