The sky over Naples was turning violet when we emerged from the tunnel.
Smoke curled behind us like a vengeful spirit, the lab beneath us groaning under the weight of its own secrets. Alonzo hoisted Eva over his shoulder with the strength of a soldier, while I covered our retreat, my fingers locked around the pistol like it was an extension of my fury.
