I move through the mansion like a shadow. The more I stay out of sight the better it is for me. I have often wondered why Maximus and Sylvia took me in, since they both seem to detest me so much. Sylvia more than Maximus. He is just indifferent. He has never hit me or been unnecessarily cruel, but he watches my abuse without a word to his wife.
