JJ’s phone had been dark for seven days.
I had killed every location setting, turned off Find My, and kept it on airplane mode from the moment we left the clinic. I had no interest in reading her messages or digging through anything she hadn’t chosen to show me.
Today I wanted Havoc to know the phone was alive.
I parked in North Town at an abandoned storage property two miles from the tattoo shop. Nothing connected the place to me, Benny, or the Daggers. If Hell’s Fire managed to trace the phone while it was active, all they would find was an empty building and weeds growing through cracked pavement.
I switched off airplane mode and waited.
The phone nearly vibrated itself out of my hand.
