“We’ve got her route.”
The words should have made me feel better. For one tiny second, they almost did.
Then I looked at the narrow road glowing on the laptop screen and realized what we actually had. We knew Bones had driven Millie north. We knew which road he had turned onto. We knew she had been alive and sitting beside him when the traffic cameras caught them.
What we did not know was where he had taken her after that.
My relief collapsed almost as quickly as it came.
“Then go.”
Nixx looked up from the map. He had been studying the road while messages from Jarek continued appearing across his phone, but my words pulled his attention completely away from both.
“What?”
“You know where Bones went. Go find him.”
I expected him to stand. Grab his keys. Call Jarek. Do whatever
