The next day passed without anything unusual happening. I spent most of it at the compound handling the work I normally did while trying not to think about Trent. He was supposed to reach the abandoned building at seven thirty in the evening. Turner already had everything in place to watch it.
Trent hadn't mentioned the assignment since I'd given it to him yesterday. He worked around the compound like any other day, and I did the same. Ridge and Turner stayed away from him unless they had a reason to speak to him. Nobody could know we were waiting to see what happened.
