I went back for Nolan two days after Mira came home from the hospital.
She was asleep when I left. I'd waited until I was sure of that before I moved. Dane was at the compound. Cassidy was there. Mom was there. Mira wasn't going to be alone and she wasn't going to know I was gone until I was already back.
That was how I wanted it.
I drove alone to the safe house.
