Before I could answer, I heard footsteps on the gravel behind us.
I turned and saw Harlow coming from the main building, moving fast enough to tell me she’d noticed me and Dane leave together and decided to involve herself. Asher was right behind her, already irritated by whatever he thought was happening.

“You and Dane slipping out together usually means something interesting.”
