I left the safe house with Nolan locked in the room and two brothers on him. Crash knew not to go in unless I said so, and Holt didn’t need to be told twice. Nolan could sit there and think about how he got himself into this. That part wasn’t my concern right now.
The drive back didn’t take long, but it gave me too much time to think. Nolan was handled for now, contained and exactly where I wanted him. Mira wasn’t handled. Mira was already moving.
I pulled through the gates and didn’t stop until I killed the engine.
Dane was already there.
He turned before I stepped out, like he’d been waiting for me. That told me enough before I asked anything. Mira had moved. She hadn’t stayed where I left her.
I shut the door and looked at him.
“Where is she?”
“Main room.”
