I was already awake when the alarm clock went off the next morning. Cassidy was still asleep beside me, so I reached over and turned it off before it woke her. My mind went straight back to Trent the second I opened my eyes. Turner was supposed to start watching him today.
I got dressed and left Cassidy a note on the table before heading outside. Two brothers were still covering the house, and Jace gave me a nod when I walked toward my truck. I told him Cassidy was sleeping and climbed inside. Twenty minutes later, I drove through the compound gates.
Turner was already outside when I arrived. He was near the garage drinking coffee and talking with Knox. Trent was farther across the compound with two prospects, already getting started on whatever he had planned for the morning. I
