(Ridge) I sent the signal at ten. One word to the group, move. Then I got in the truck. I had been thinking about Rook’s address since Garrett gave it to me, running it through my head, waiting for the right time, and now was it. I drove without lights for the last stretch, parked two streets over, and walked the rest. The street was quiet, houses spread out enough that nobody paid attention to much. I came up on the property from the side and stopped. There were lights on inside, more than one room, and the front door was open. Rook was outside. He had a suitcase in each hand, moving fast with his head down, going straight to the car in the driveway where he put both cases in the trunk, then turned and went back inside without looking around. I stayed where I was and watched. H
