I sat there for a while. Thinking.
Then I got up. Walked to the window. Looked out at the compound.
We'd searched the woods. Hank's house. The Spoke. All the obvious places.
But we were missing something.
I pulled out my phone. Called Jake.
"Yeah, Prez?"
"I need you and three other brothers. We're searching the fields at the edge of town. Where the highway runs through."
"Now?"
"Yeah. Now. Meet me at the gates in ten minutes."
"Got it."
I hung up. Went to the bedroom. Mira was asleep. I grabbed my jacket. Left quiet.
Walked to the gates. Jake was already there. With Leo, Jax, and Knox.
"Where we heading?" Jake asked.
"Edge of Crosswell. East side. Where the highway cuts through the fields. Lots of open land out there. Good place to dump a body."
