(Mira) I didn’t move from the couch after he told me to sit. That part wasn’t about listening, it was about watching. If I stayed still, I could see more, hear more, pick up on the things he didn’t say out loud. Ridge moved through the room like nothing had changed, but that didn’t mean anything to me anymore.
