(Mira) We got back to the compound in the early afternoon. The morning had taken something out of both of us. Not in a bad way. Just the kind of tired that came after something that mattered. Ridge was quiet on the drive back and I didn't push him to talk. We'd said what we needed to say at the cemetery and left it there. Ridge came around to my side before I could open the door.
