(Mira) Ridge carried me to the bedroom a little while after we finished eating. He set me down carefully and I sat on the edge of the bed and looked around the room. Small and simple. Wood walls. One window that looked out toward the trees. A lamp on the side table throwing everything in the same warm low light as the rest of the cabin. It didn't look like much.
