"Dane and I fought."
Her eyebrows lifted.
"Bad?"
"Depends."
"That's not an answer."
I looked down at Sarah again. The baby was busy trying to chew my finger. She had no idea what was sitting in the room around her. I envied her that completely.
"Dane finally said everything I wanted him to say."
Mira blinked.
"That sounds good."
"That's the problem."
She stared at me. I stared back. Then realization crossed her face all at once. She understood it before I had to explain it.

"He said it after all this time."
