We were smiling as we watched our baby, but then a nurse took him from us to clean him, and I felt a wave of emptiness. Another nurse helped me tidy up, while Kennis stayed by my side to support me. The doctor informed me that I would heal in a day or two, then bowed and left the room.
A few minutes later, the nurse returned to the suite with our sleeping baby, and I felt warmth return to my heart. During the short time he was away from me, I kept wanting to see him and felt anxious.
