The shop assistant stopped in her tracks, turning slowly as if the sudden movement might shatter her into a million pieces. The mall was silent, the crowd watching with bated breath, their phones still pointed at the scene.
Alessio didn’t look at the crowd. He kept his cold, dead gaze fixed on the woman. He turned his head slightly toward the manager.
“Fire her,” he commanded, his voice thick with dread.
The assistant’s eyes snapped wide immediately and her heart felt like it had been dropped into a bucket of ice.
‘Fire me? No. No, that can’t happen!’ she thought frantically. She had just started to work here. The pay is the best she has ever had. If she lost the job, then she would be utterly finished!
